What Is Standard Bridgerton season 3
Bridgerton season 3 is currently in development and is expected to start filming in spring 2021. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming season.
The third season of Bridgerton will focus on Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) quest to find a suitable wife. In the previous season, Anthony was rejected by his first choice, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), and his second choice, Edwina Sheffield (Ruby Barker), left him at the altar.
The official synopsis for season 3 reads:
“In the aftermath of Edwina’s jilting and Penelope’s sudden engagement, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) resolves to find a suitable wife. But as his list of requirements for a potential bride grows ever more demanding, it becomes clear that finding a woman who meets all of his criteria may be impossible.
Meanwhile, Bridgerton’s new neighbor Will Champney (Luke Thompson) seems to be everything Anthony is not looking for in a husband. But as Will begins to win Penelope’s heart, it becomes clear that he may be the perfect man for her after all.”
The third season will adapt Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel, An Offer from a Gentleman. The novel follows Anthony as he tries to find a wife and also deals with the aftermath of Daphne’s (Phoebe Dynevor) hasty marriage to the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page).
Bridgerton season 3 will consist of eight episodes, just like the first two seasons. The series has not yet been renewed for a fourth season, but given its popularity, it is likely that it will be renewed.
Filming for Bridgerton season 3 is expected to begin in spring 2021. No release date has been announced yet, but the series is expected to return to Netflix in late 2021 or early 2022.
